Temescal Remodel

Temescal Remodel

Martin and Sara have hired us for multiple large and small projects at their home over the past five years.  I met them in 2009 and connected them with a landscape architect to design the completely concreted, chain link fenced back yard the previous homeowner had left them.  We transformed their entire back yard space with two new connected decks, a flagstone patio with walkways, a studio that architecturally matches the house, a hot tub and tiled, outdoor shower with a bio swale.

In 2012, they hired us to do a design+build remodel of their master bedroom, situated in an odd 1970’s addition (again, by previous homeowner).  We reconfigured the entire space, interior and exterior, to seamlessly fit with the Craftsman architecture of the original house.  We designed and installed a new walk-in closet, a vaulted cedar, tongue and groove ceiling, new hardwood floors and Marvin windows.  We tore off the dated siding and shingled the addition to match the Craftsman house.

In 2014, we moved downstairs in the interior of the addition and removed an old kitchenette and 1970’s style space and completely remodeled the space.  We created a breakfast nook with a custom bench and table, desiged by Jason, a small bar area and a new den, complete with custom wood and metal shelves, custom cabinetry and new LED lighting and gas stove.
