After S & J remodeled their beautiful Craftsman home in Albany, they moved to upgrading the curb appeal and functionality of the front yard by having us do a complete redo of the landscape and hardscape. We started by regrading the front yard slope to better accommodate new existing conditions. We then started the hardscape by setting five large boulders to anchor the aesthetic of the yard. Next came the formal and informal pathways to the front door, which we cut and fit to the new grade, with irregular flagstones.
The landscape was planted out with drought tolerant and California native plants in the front yard and parking strip. We installed water-smart irrigation and Forest Floor mulch for water conservation, soil and plant health and aesthetic. Low-voltage LED path lights were installed along the pathway from the sidewalk to the front door.
